Restaurant Review

If you are in the mood for a date night and near the east side of Central Park, you might want to try Candle Cafe. I would recommend reservations.

The variety of beverages was impressive, as there were options for any palate. I had the pomegranate lemonade and it was just the right amount of sweet.

I had a seitan steak with mashed potatoes and greens for my entrée—their take on the Southern Plate. What really stood out for me was the chance to create your own meal with a pick four section on the menu (The Good Plate). It really shows off the range of options they offer. Their sandwiches were also pretty delicious.

The atmosphere was quietly romantic and the food and service solid. In New York expect higher prices, but they were in line with other nighttime eating establishments. Candle Café has three locations in New York City with varying menus. To learn more
